Treacherous Waters

May 6, 2008
By Rachael Buchanan, Mabelvale, AR

Struggling to be content but depression is victorious
An imminent downpour of maroon soon follows
Wanting to be buried with the scorned and notorious
Seeking death, dreaming of gallows

Deep in a hole that’s full of despair
No words of wisdom only folly
My razor and wrist having a torrid affair
I hum a tune that’s complete melancholy

An endless staircase I am insistent to ascend
Depraved of sleep and humanity
Nursing thoughts and ideas to vile to comprehend
Teetering on the edge of Insanity

Always searching for an absolution
However I have come to find suicide is the only solution
