gently twirling on gusts of wind
the snow fell,
down and down
covering the pain and the loss below
covering the sights, the smells, the sounds.
and soon all remnants
became forgotten,
that which was sad
now became lost,
the snow never melted
or dripped away,
the world was frozen
beneath the frost.
