"Nothing Gold Can Stay" (Robert Frost), "For when dreams go. Life is a barren field. Frozen with snow" (Langston Hughes).

Rocket boys counting down from ten
The lift off brings the city together in smiles.
Rocket boys your dreams shall now begin
Never did we dream of something so extreme and wild
Rocket boys give us hope to move on
From this town full of dust and people with black lungs
Rocket Boys you've inspired more than I.
So carry on with your rockets shooting across October Sky

The author's comments:
This poem was inspired by the film "October Sky". A movie documenting the success of the first rocket creation, and it's creators suck as Homer Hickam.

This comment regards the authors on his poem, he says "This poem was inspired by the film October sky. A movie documenting the first rocket creation, and its creators SUCK as homer hickam." First of the film and book were about Homer hickam and his friends, building rockets because they had dreams of working for Werner Von Braun; not the "success of the first rocket creation." Also it was probably just a typo but you said suck instead of such. I really enjoyed your poem however.
