Crumbling constellations

plus a few grains of rusty, hand-me-down luck

I frolic on dew drops and antique smog

Tangling stars in my hair

Purring a secret

All

about

I fall prey to the it

As I try to hide deep inside Medusa’s eyes

buried in the grains of a desert of possibility

and the profound eternity of

Keys, locks, embroidery patterns, and severed thesauruses’

I will always be the shards of something broken

Not

Quite

Fixable



I find my breaking point

at the intersection of insanity and relative genius

And I pray for a single instant

where blue can be blue

and me can be me

and you can

just

be

you



I’ll wait for the sullen reflection of Neverland

To unravel in my hands

and gather in a clump in the corners of my eyes

and contort into a celluloid day dream

As I slowly but surely



tip off the point

of no return



I will only be awakened by

the dazzling zing

of the Jabberwocky’s roar

and the sweet tang

of the salty tears of the

mock turtle

and just maybe

by true love’s kiss

if there happens to be one left for me.



I take a bow
