The American Way
A crowd cheers, regardless of success or failure.
Tiny baseball players fly, wearing smiles, unaware.
This is the American tradition.
Brother cries and sister laughs.
He falls, forced.
This is the American tradition.
Time passed,
Cloaked in black.
A note is found.
He was a broken American child,
Destroyed by his family’s lifestyle.
Tradition’s creation,
Predating rejection, and denial,
Push away the fault and blame.
This is the American Tradition.
This is the American Way.
