No Longer

July 2, 2008
By Lianne Lowe, Port Talbot, ZZ

Your glance no longer glances-
And your words are no longer heard,
For your touch no longer threatens
And your face seems almost blurred.

Your interest no longer involved-
And your back is gradually turned.
I scream a smile worth a thousand words,
But the smile no longer returned.

To this torture I receive,
Deserve is a word that comes to mind-
For as you desire a step forward,
I dread every moment I’m behind.
No longer will words wrap us together
And no longer will we share that glance,
But leaving me is what you need-
And for you- I’ll keep the distance.
