The Price of Freedom

Every day,
Throughout my life,
I've felt the pain
Of other's strife.

I have feedom
I didn't buy.
I didn't suffer,
Bleed, or die.

My father served his country
Far away from me.
He is safe, but one whole year
Was given so I'd be free.

A war was raged years ago
No mercy was shown
Lives were paid, to keep the
Freedom we all own.

In seconds our entire lives
Turned from blue to gray
A brother, sister, or a friend
Was the price we have to pay.

"But I will gladly stand up next to you
And defend her still today..."
And just as the old song goes...
"God bless the USA."

I'm thankful to have the freedom
From all of those who've died
I'm so thankful for the safety
Of not having to hide.

"America, America
God shed his grace on thee
And crown they good, with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea"

I am so thankful
For all that gave
I love my country America
The home of free and brave...
