Pictures taunt
from the walls,
Memories haunt
as I walk down the halls.
They remind me of the past
and how things didn’t last.
In vain
I try
to push away the pain,
refusing to break down and cry,
ignoring the regret and sorrow
for tomorrow.
But it’s hard to rearrange
the once concrete to accommodate
this new found change.
