Addiction
A common word thrown around in society
to explain those who use.
This world is filled with people who
use drugs to make themselves feel better.
I don’t understand addiction.
In fact, I hate addiction.
It keeps taking the ones I love away.
A death, a life, why can’t I have a say?

She ruined her life beyond repair.
I need to let this out into the open air.
She started small,
and now look where she is.
She is hooked.

Addiction
Addiction has turned someone I love
into a liar and a thief.
Why can’t I have any relief?
Can’t she just see that what she is
doing is tearing our family apart?
This comes from my heart.
I still love you,
but I do not admire what you have become.
With not trust left for you,
you can keep your addiction....
