Horrors of my Life

Train stopped
Brakes screeched
My hands slid
Across the floor
S*** everywhere
Not mine,
Not hers.
Everyone’s
*
Smell in the air
Methane?
Not mine
Not our
But theirs
*
Coming to a stop
Not mine
Not hers
But Our stop
*
S.S
Whack! Whack!
Blood gushed everywhere
Not mine
Not hers
But Ours
*
Push Shove
Fall Trucked
Blood Gushed
Our Blood
*
Sisters
Mothers
Father
Brother
OUR people
*
Smell in the air
Zyklon B?
Fire there was,
Yes people burned
Frail grandparents they were
Not mine
Not hers
OURS*

The author's comments:
I was compelled to write this after we learned about the Holocaust in depth in school. After seeing the horrifying pictures, and videos, i could only imagine what life would have been like.
