Summer creeping up the alley ways
Wanting to come out and spread its wings amongst the dunes.
Waiting for those long, sunny humid days.
Listening to those chirping birds sing their tunes.

Going to the sopping pool with my best friend.
Wanting to go in the sun and tan.
Waiting for the last day of tedious school to end.
Wanting to go to the beach and lay in the sand.

Waiting to go and have miraculous fun.
Wanting to hopefully fit in my bathing suit.
Waiting to go out to play and run.
Wanting to go and eat some yummy fruit.

Oh, summer days. Why do you take so long?
