You, the Support Beam

My love of life
Always contradicting itself
Surrendering and striving
At the same time

Suffering and pain make
The simplest of tasks
A great deal harder

My light stays by my side
I want to give up, I see it
Showing me the way

The value of my life is
Put into numbers

In warm arms I’m safe
Against all that is willing
To take me under

I’m alive

The trapeze net below
Willing to catch me
I pray that it holds
The weight of my sorrows

You

The brawn in my life
Not able to let go
No able to see me fail

Thank you

My love of life
Breathes new air
The scent is of those
You share laughter
