Of Mothers and Daughters MAG
A moment
suspended in midair
electric sparks passing through
bloodlines between us
My mother and I
sitting at the dinner table
stomachs full
Eat more – says She
my daughter, You will grow
taller than me
stronger than me
away from me
I frown at her ignorance, how could She not know
She is in my laughter
the fat on my hips
my ambitions
the fear I have of spiders. She courses
through my veins
giving nourishment
bathing my organs in an Omnipotent Red River.
