Between
I am in between
Neither living nor dying
A presence so serene
Is far too satisfying
Though safety and peace
Guide this heavenly state
Here lives a beautiful beast
Whom I’ve learned to love and hate
Unpredictable she seems
Even dangerous if I may
She corrupted my dreams
And haunts me day by day
What she encourages me to do
Are unspeakable horrors
But her words seem so true
As I walk through the darkest of doors
Help is too late
Freedom is no longer free
The demon chose my fate
God knows she’s not sorry
I should have faced my fears
But under all these tears
I can finally see
That the monster is me
