One Chance
Life is a journey that we all must take
For some, this journey is long
And for others it can be short
You learn to take your first steps
And even after you fall
You must try hard to get back up
You must never quit for you are only given one chance
One chance to make the most of this life
One chance to accomplish your dreams
Life is way too short to just sit back
For there is so much to do
The places to explore
The people to meet
Some people will be there to help you on your journey
To give you a helping hand
But beware of those that will only cause you trouble
For they are not your true friends
And don’t forget to be happy
have a smile for each new day
Because before you know it
You will look back in your older days
And realize that time went by fast
And as time passes
You will face obstacles
Feel pain and sorrow
Sad times will bring you down
But you will learn to overcome these things
You see that time heals wounds
Just be strong
And try your hardest
Never let others bring you down
And live life with no regrets
You will never see the end of this journey
But when the path ends
Just know that you lived life to the fullest

"...If the Thames that ran beside them...recalled a night where the moon shone as brightly as a shilling on the same boy and girl... and thought to themselves, 'at last, the wheel comes full circle,' they kept their silence."
