Her smile

February 20, 2008

After the show,
she smiled.
It was a smile to vanquish the sun,
to usurp the stars themselves.
It rattled time,
and confused reason.
The brilliance of her soul
leapt through that smile.
In a way it hurt.
The way that flowers hurt.
The way that clouds hurt.
The way that life hurts.
Such was her smile.
