a mountain
cold and grey
standing apart from the others;
casting a shadow
inside my heart.
bare, windy top,
round-shouldered, and evasive,
hunched in a tree-cape
of branches and wind.
the road wanders on,
leaving the hills behind
still shadow remains,
winding a cold, barren path
through the forest of my heart.
