All of You

April 17, 2008
By Meagan Roppo, Sewickley, PA

I want to be the blood in your veins
Dipping love into your heart
And swimming under your skin

I want to be the yearning in your hands
To touch the beauty
That rests around you

I want to be the stars in your eyes
That light the sky
When the sun’s thoughts
Go black

I want to be the rasp in your voice
Humming to the beat
Of your words

Each of these things
Make a chorus of what is you
I want to be a part of them
Every detail

If my love for every small part of you
Is so strong
Then can my body contain
All of the love I have
For all of you?

This poem is absolutely beautiful. The imagery is amazing! The writer explores every aspect of true love for a person. The writer must have spent a great deal of time; it is perfect!
