From These Shadows

shadows surround me,
surround me of my past,
holding me back,
haunting me,
keeping me trapped,
unable to escape,
unable to live my life,
I try and try,
lord knows I try,
I just want to be free,
I just want to be unmingled;
by these chains,
holding me down,
making me live the life;
that was set out for me
not letting me be an individual,
unable to make my own decissions,
I just want to be,
free from these shadows.
