My Soldier

By
My soldier, oh soldier I treasured you dear
You were lost in the battle you fought many years
I loved you but seldom knew you
From only pictures and stories I did hear
I heard that my soldier was brave and tough
A good father, and husband though a little bit rough
You will be missed very much
You held on hard to your life’s clutch

My soldier, oh soldier only remember meeting twice
I heard great stories of your wisdom and advice
One who cared like no other and always caused laughter
My soldier, oh soldier we miss your smile dear
But, I treasure the moments I spent with you here
