A Fire glows - as a dancing Maiden -
Flames whisper Unhindered -
Masks materialize - lured to the light -
Envious of its Brilliance - its Endurance -
Smothering with loud wind - hostile sparks leap -
Disappear - Fire brighter than before -
The Masks amused - Night soil thrown -
Blaze chars skin - Masks stand back -
Pigskin masks - afraid - mix rose water -
Coals glow - spark - leap to life -
Blaze - weaker than before -
The Masks depart mutely -
No lions venture close -
The Fire - stands -
Forever Alone -

I tried to write this in the style of Emily Dickinson. It was an assignment in class. At first, I wasn't too fond of the assignment. Then, I started writing it and I loved how it turned out.
