Well you listen here!
Who are you
to tell me to dream?
I don’t need instruction,
on top of direction
to tell me to breathe,
to tell me to live,
and certainly not
permission to dream.
I will close my eyes
and pretend you’re not there,
because I don’t need
anyone who thinks
that I cannot dream
without their consent.
