Harsh and Beautiful,
they fight to grow,
Harsh and Beautiful,
they fight to the top,
overseeing all,
their mood varies,
come cry or sing,
make us happy,
and help us grow,
Harsh and Beautiful,
we gather round,
in wonder and graceful clumsiness,
we watch them grow steady and surly,
some with flowers some with thorns,
their beauty never ceases,
though dwindling they are,
we protect them,
through the might of thousands of voices.
