Here we lie hand in hand.
Our bodies together in the sand.
The water comes up to grab our feet
then pulls away in defeat.
We laugh at the swimmers
in the cold water that shimmers.
We tell each other stories.
All the fails and the glories.
I snuggle closer still
as love for him inside me fills.
The sun sets, coating the ocean red,
signaling the time for bed.
I tell him I hope we never part
for he does and always will have my heart.
He kisses me softly and says we belong together,
and that he too will love me forever.
