Jack-o-Lantern
“Dearest pumpkin,” said Butternut,
“Your face looks just like fear!
Your nose and teeth are gutted up
And you’re smiling an evil leer!
When the night comes and you turn wild,
The rest of us don’t know what to say,
For we dread the light that costumed child
Swaps your brain with every day.”
“Oh Butternut,” Pumpkin grinned,
“You and your crazy, foreign dreams!
I’m still the same old me within,
But now, I’ve been Halloweened!”
