The Path towards Perfection:

Perfection is the chain that binds me.
Entrapped by a vision,
A Desire to be beautiful,
To be strong,
Devoid of all flaws,
Untouchable,
Exempt from mortality’s inflictions,

Yet, unbeknownst to the truth within,
I alone hold the key to my prison.
Society sets the sentence.
Closer and closer, I walk
Towards an unachievable goal.
With each step, the soul is torn,
Tainted,
And tarnished.
Mind and body alike,
Wrought with impurities,
The bearer of these chains
Furnishes their prison walls.
Perfection is the enemy within,
It warps the body and mind.
It make me scream.
It makes me cry.
It seems so real,
Yet, with each step,
Each success,
The distance expands.
Hopeless and trapped in an endless cycle,
Perfection is the chain that binds me.
Entrapped by a vision,
Only in death will we part.
