Layers

Clean brush strokes refresh the wall,
As layers underneath are covered, forever.
The drying process leaves an odor that stings the nose,
And one can see the glistening of the paint on the wall.
Years pass on,
The paint now dull,
Flakes begin falling,
And old layers are revealed.
