Double-Blind
I’m in a world where all can see me --
But I can see no one.

A light pierces through me and I shudder--
I’m blinded into a world of darkness.

My heart beat is oddly synchronized
 With a vivacious rhythm.

My left hand suddenly flails from my side
 And it retreats back timidly.

Now, my left leg kicks wildly in front of me
And I land on the cold platform after a colossal leap.

My body revolves until my head throbs –
It twists relentlessly until momentum is lost.

I coerce my fingers to bend unnaturally –
 In pain, my hands tremble.

My eyes search desperately for a face
That would rescue me from suffering.

 Yet, I see no one
And all they see is a graceful dancer.
