What Once Was

Vigor,
Its excitement,
Its thrill,
Moving to combat all doubt,
Bearing greatness,
But when it is lost,
It brings forth a rude awakening,
Of disillusion,
Disillusion of aspirations,
Disillusion of dreams,
Vaguely remembering a time,
A time when my consciousness condoned the genuine purity of life,
Now purity is tainted with the pollution of the soul's doubt,
The soul's inability to combat forces of ingenuity,
Forgetting the pondered thoughts,
Of a prosperous future,
Only harboring remembrance of one's failures
