We've been together for so long
Why does it feel like the end?
It makes me think things through and through
Like a bird by a river bend
The bird will try to capture its meal
The prey will try to cease
The thing we must remember
Is now we know what this means
Like a bird, we will fly,
And eventually leave our prey
But after a long, long while,
We will come back to this spot today
We'll think things through and wonder why
What have we spent to cost?
Not a nickel, not a dime,
It feels our love is lost
Don't let this be the end
Because I love you just so much
I know that we can make this through if we let our lips just touch
If we have faith and we believe we haven't spent to cost
Then I think we can make this through darling,
Our love will never be lost.
