Immortal Childhood

I once knew a little girl,
She lived by the words “friends,” “love,” and “laugh.”
She could always be found outside until the stars smiled down upon her.
The girl with the wavy brown hair and eyes the color of chocolate.

As I grew older the girl went away.
But every now and then she comes right back,
She never loses one ounce of pep.
The girl with the wavy brown hair and eyes the color of chocolate.

Sometimes I really miss this girl.
But she is not dead.
For the girl with wavy brown hair,
With eyes the color of chocolate,
Is alive inside my soul.

The spirit of childhood is almost a thought.
And thoughts are ideas.
Ideas are immortal.
The girl with wavy brown hair,
With eyes the color of chocolate,
Is the immortal spirit of childhood.
