I didn't like my face.
So I drew a new one.
Staring at the blurry mirror,
I grabbed a pencil and erased it all.
My eyes, my mouth, even my eyebrows.
Someone new, a person you'd like.
With new eyes, the color of the June sky.
A nose that was not crooked,
not too small or too large.
A nose that suited my face and
a beautiful, full mouth, colored cherry red.
A delicate pair of eyebrows, to finish the palette.
I gazed my artwork and then realized,
I looked lovely, but I was not me.
I am flawed and I have my imperfections.
I didn't like this face either,
So I drew on my old one.
And went to bed.
