Lover Night

April 18, 2008

Why does it invigorate me?
I wonder as I drift upon the sea,
that is my open mind.

The cool of the air, when Sun is gone.
The breathless moment just before dawn,
when the world is coming alive

His blue-black arms stroke me.
A carress as soft a he,
when he whispers a lyric in my ear.

The night bird cries,
a pleasured sigh,
at the darkness all around.

Night's kiss is the sweetest taste.
Awakening, my tounge is laced,
with the words of my purest passion.

My heart soars free,
when the crickets sing to me.
Oh! What a joyous sound!
