The Window
On the inside looking out
 The house slowly walks away
 Our luggage in the trunk
Only packed for a couple of weeks
Nobody knew we wouldn’t come back
My grandma was now an ant
No longer seeing my confused face
 I didn’t understand
Why am I sad? I’ll be back soon
 Mom drove past Rachael’s house
I had spent almost everyday there after school
But we left a week early,
And I didn’t get a chance to say goodbye
The airport finally comes into sight
Soon I’ll be on a plane
 Then jumping into daddy’s arms
But I had a gut feeling
 Deep inside me,
I would never see this place again
A tear slowly rolls down my reddened cheek
