I'm a lover, not a fighter, but I'll fight for what I love.

I am something in the night
They are one group for the right
Whether it’s he or she for the plight
The difference will not change the fight

I know the blood that will be shed
They think the bud of what they said
Will have stood for liberty instead
The brood will be covered in red

I saw the gore that endured
They were a pest to machines
No fuel and they will succumb
Cutting losses will suffice

I will poison snakes galore
The ungrateful rats above
Wither under the invisible
No match against a hidden man

I hope that whoever reads the poem will see that the transition from a rhyme scheme to slant rhyme to free verse, along with what's used in the beginning of each line and the rhythm, directly correlates with the story the poem portrays.

Dream as if you'll live forever, love like there is no tomorrow, dance like there is no one watching.

Spectacular! One thing iIhave to say is that you don't need to look at it so mechanically! It's a poem, have fun with it! Great job, keep writing ;)

Since I am relatively new to this, I would like to hear any feedback you have, thanks.
