Conquest of Love

March 22, 2008
By Christine Shen, Arlington, VA

My heart is frozen, cold and locked, within

Not one desire has ceased numbness before

I’m waiting for the one with who begin

The long awaited perils of amour

This endless night, this life devoid; incite,

Your inspiration to transform my soul,

Ignite my fuse, become my one delight

With you, my sealing bond, complete my whole.

However (heed this) young bold paramour,

Enter these realms of chance with fortitude

These walls of ice surround my heart endure

The while withdrawn I am from love, accrued.

Succeed, unlock my heart, I wish and wait

For whom my love lies in determined fate.
