Whispers

Whispers in the darkness
the shadows in the mist,
they watch you as you walk,
Be quiet and don't talk

They guard you as you walk on by
when you fall to your knees,
as you cry
All you want to do is die

Why don't they get it?
Why can't they see?
Life and you don't collide easily.

You struggle and you can barely see
Tears are fogging your vision
You are now regretting your decision
As you pause and take a breath.
Your convinced, then, your decision was for the best.

Eyes still watching,
Whispers rising,
Now everyone is talking,
You're surrounded by the spirits,
of your confused consciousness

They won't let you move,
feet pinned to the ground.
They won't let you go through,
You're stuck and can't do
exactly what you planned

You step back from the edge
of the rockiest cliff of all,
You, before, wanted to fall.

Turning back now,
running back now,
ashamed of what could of been
guilty of a terrible sin.

You hope to be forgiven
Maybe too good to be true,
But it's all for the best
You know it in your heart
