Loneliness

Loneliness.
It is a thing
that knows
my name
too well.
Despite the fact,
that I have never
asked for it's company.
It always comes to me
out of the blue,
without my permission.
Which is why
I often hate it.
I find myself
unable
To do so.
Many times, it has
been my only friend,
and unlike
my happiness
it has
never faltered.
