Changed For the Worst

March 15, 2008
By Theresa Sengstock, Chicago, IL

I used to love school,
And all that I learned.
But that emotion that was once love,
I made sure I burned.
I used to be social,
And love to talk.
And now the smiles on my face,
You can tell they are fake.
I didn't mind all the homework,
Id pass every test.
Now what I'm producing,
Is definitely not my best.
What has happened to me,
Nobody knows.
And now all I really want,
Is to be on my own.
Those who truly care about me,
Clearly see through my lies.
However they don't dare to ask,
What I'm actually feeling inside.
I know I'm not abandoned,
And I have many right beside me,
But those who wait and wonder,
Are starting to only annoy me.
I don't know what I should do,
I've taken a turn for the worst.
And now I find myself carrying,
A razor inside my purse.
