Lullabies

Sleeping silently In the wake of a tune
Floating above the heavens as a balloon
Sweet mellow notes sending the young to sleep
Not one child makes a peep

Blankets as clouds comfort the young
Not one can stay awake, as the song is sung
The lullaby puts each one to rest.
This is what lullabies do best.

Mothers from everywhere, sing to there child
The child now sleeping, once was wild
Soothing tones like the sound of a summer breeze
Putting there child into deep ease

Rest is a precious gift
Some stay awake as some drift
When you listen to lullabies you are quickly asleep
Dreaming of fairies, and little Bopeep

Lullabies help the young dream
Of wild things, that beam and gleam
So remember when you need to snooze
A lullaby is the one to choose
