Winter's Night

I walk alone this winter night
The woods are stilled with cold
Stars are far away tonight but shining oh so bold
They shine a light upon the snow and turn the world to white
I long for someone to share with me the glory of this sight
I know a night like this is rare as refined gold
I can’t help feeling my life’s a story that’s been told
A night like this should be shared and something’s not quite right
I walk alone, but not alone, as he is all around
I feel him in the cold and in the icy blast
He’s telling me to carry on and don’t bring up the past
I hear him in the wind tonight and all the forest sound
He is with me, I feel him near, and now I do believe
He brings me home safe and warm, and he will never leave
