The Potato Bug

By
Potato bug! Potato bug! crunchy and gold

Hiding in the shadows of the untold

What victim shall thee frighten,

And choose to enlighten?

In what corners shall thy lay

Tempted to find thy prey?

Shall he be an ant?

Or possibly a plant?

And with a body, oh so rare

Does thou have any hair?

And with ones appearance

Would you cause any interference?

What the eyes? what the teeth,

How do you break through thy sheath?

What the color? what the days?

How old are you anyways?

When a foot drops to kill

thou art still:

Without beauty, most disagree

Did he who make the eagle make thee?

Potato bug! Potato bug! crunchy and gold

Hiding in the shadows of the untold

What victim shall thee frighten,

And choose to enlighten?
