The silence of snowfall, the silence of rain
The silence of screaming, the silence of pain
The silence of drowning, the silence of dying
The solitary silence of quietly crying
The silence of disease infecting the mind
The silence of a child being left behind
The silence that you cannot break
The silence that you cannot make
But a silence so still, a silence so sweet
A silence that everyone fears to meet
A silence in which no one speaks
A silence of what no one seeks
the silence that tops all the rest
the particular silence I like best
the silence that bears a curse to mutter
the silence that no one dares to utter
the silence of hatred, the silence of fighting,
are nothing compared to the silence of writing.
