Slipping a hand behind the veil
Pushing it aside to steal
A glance at hearts that no longer feel
The world behind my window curtain

Where hands that give and souls that care
Where words that help you live and bear
No longer stir out there
The world behind my window curtain

Where greed prevails and kind acts fade
Where lives of selfishness are made
Where our conscience we have betrayed
The world behind my window curtain

Where misery is captured in each eye
Where misery is carved on each wry
Where misery hangs in depths of sigh
The world behind my window curtain

Where hunger rattles empty bones
Its dinner bells that call for stones
Where bare pots echo painful moans
The world behind my window curtain

Where no one dares to speak a thought
In fear of being unjustly caught
Where liberty robbed and silence bought
The world behind my window curtain

Where emotions on fire of fate would sear
Where intense a life with doubt and fear
Where disappointment awaits its tear
The world behind my window curtain

Where sun hurries the end of day
As if it couldn't bear to stay
Where the moon in shadows often lay
The world behind my window curtain

For this we deserve that cloudy sky
Which rains ash of hopes that die
Upon which dry eyes silently cry
The world behind my window curtain

I drop my hands and the curtains fall
To cover feelings words and all
While buried lives in despair still call
The world behind my window curtain

This is a wonderfull poem that expresses your feelings very well. I liked the part where you describe the evils in this world, I feel the same way sometimes. Let's hope things change, or better yet let's try to change things to the better.
