When the Ocean Meets the Land

April 2, 2008
By Gabi MIn, North Vancouver, ZZ

When the ocean meets the land,
Footsteps of memories
are erased
and forgotten.
Driftwood are beached
Their wandering days are over.

When the ocean meets the land,
The land is marred,
and the ocean is dirtied.
Where the water meets the soil,
Boats are carried ashore
to safety,
to a new world,
or to home.

The creatures of the land
cannot live in the ocean
As the creatures of the ocean
cannot live in the land
But still
The ocean meets the land
and forever.

Just as the sky touches the earth,
Just as the sun brightens the moon,
Just as the stars connect to one another,
The ocean will always meet the land.
