The Breeze Hit Us

The breeze hit Luke and me
He wrapped his arms around me, we watched the setting sun
The first time I watched the sun set with Luke,
He wrapped his arms around my body
On the evening of my best friend's wedding, our first date
What an amazing night

We kissed for the first time that night.
In front of the setting sun, I tilted my head up, and he kissed me
We went out for another date
He called early, right along with the rising sun
We went swimming, and I saw a muscular, fit body
And all my secrets I confided in Luke

I found my soul mate in Luke
We were together night and day, day and night
Together we fit in mind and body
I loved Luke, Luke loved me
After our nights together, we would watch the rising sun
We couldn’t help but date

Our 3 year anniversary, it was the perfect date
My sweet, romantic Luke
We watched the setting sun
And before it was night
Luke proposed, with his arms around me
Yes, excitement throughout my entire body

Excitement throughout his body
And within weeks, a wedding date
Our happiness went around, for Luke and me
I loved Luke
We loved each other more every night
Our love was constant, never-ending, just like the sun

On the 65th marriage anniversary, my Luke died by the setting sun
Then the paramedics came for his body
I had no sleep that night, and no sleep for next night
It frazzled me, the thought of a funeral date
I hated seeing pictures of Luke
That couldn’t be with me

The setting sun... Our first date
The way he held my body...My sweet Luke
All our nights together...All the memories of you and me
