Standing in this hallway

A lot of ways away

I look to the pictures on each door

And don't know what to say

Three good pictures

Three good friends

When did I have friends?

When did I ever have them?

I want to walk in

Through one of those doors

Three friends, one that I'd die for

i want to walk in

So unprepared for what I see

At each door, a gunshot hit me

As I go toward the floor

I wish why I couldn't have learned more

In a flash of time

I'm resting in that doorway

Sitting in that hallway

With so many things and two words I'd rather not think or say

So still I'm standing here in that doorway...

nothing to be said here, but the fork in the road between friends. Where you can only save one and not both.
