Darkness hangs around me
An ever-growing cloud
It blocks off all the sunlight
No happiness allowed

Eternal sadness overcomes me
I cannot escape
The cloud of darkness growing,
Acting like a drape

Concealing me from all of life
Keeping me at bay
This cloud of darkness only wants
To keep my friends away

They always try to help me out
They truly care for me
My friends have always said
Only I can set me free

As much as I want to believe
That what they say is true
No matter how hard I try to push
I just cannot get through

This black wall of sadness
Is just too thick to crack
But if I carry it much longer
It will break my back

I hope that someday soon
I will see the light
That I will get through this
And have a future bright
