Writing Haikus
Via text until two in the morning
And poke-wars spanning years
Insiders so old we don't even remember their beginnings
Remember DC?
And the cab ride?
You used my backpack as a pillow
In the airport and I
Was so afraid you would throw up again
I've been to your baseball games
Sometimes raining
Sometimes too hot to stay
You watched me play basketball
And after the game I gave you a hug
Even though I was dripping sweat
Do you still have the pumpkin hat?
People think it's strange
That one of my best friends is a boy
But if they met you...
I think they'd understand.
