With every disappointment she tells me not to cry
She dries the tears before they fall from my eyes
She reminds me to smile all through the rain
And to cherish the rainbow before it starts to fade
She listens to my problems and always tells me to be sweet
She's someone my little brother would love to meet
She always seems to have an answer to my questions
It's always a blessing to be in her presence
With her, I laugh loudly in the face of fear
I can no longer see her, but I feel her near
My guardian angel and her beautiful wings
help me to fly above all adversity.

The author's comments:
I lost both of my grandmothers when I was in elementary school. They taught me many lessons that I will never forget. Each time I departed from one of their homes, she always said, "be sweet." My brother never got to meet her. I was thinking about how different things would be if they were still here and decided to write about it.
